How to Track leads with pipelines
Create a pipeline with your own stages, add contacts to it automatically from an automation and move deals along a drag-and-drop board.
A pipeline shows where every lead stands, from first question to paid order. Automations can drop people in at the right stage, and your team moves them along from there.
Steps
- 1
Open Pipelines
Go to Contacts and click the Pipelines tab. Every workspace starts with a sales pipeline; pick one on the left to rename it, recolour its stages or add new ones.
- 2
Create a pipeline
Click + New pipeline, give it a name like "Custom orders" and click Create pipeline. It starts with five stages you can rename, reorder and recolour, then Save changes.
- 3
Add contacts from an automation
In any automation, click Add to pipeline in the Steps list and choose the Pipeline and Starting stage. Here, everyone who asks for the wholesale price sheet lands in Wholesale at Enquiry.
- 4
Work the board
In Contacts, pick the pipeline from Pipeline and switch to Board. Drag a card to move it to the next stage, or use its Move to menu.
- 5
See it on the contact
Open a contact to see every pipeline they're in, their stage and the full history of moves in Activity.
Tips
- Use Move stage in an automation to move people forward when they tap a button, like "Send me the sheet".
- Tick several contacts in the list to move them all with Move to stage.
- Filter by pipeline and stage, then save it as a segment to message that group.
Questions
How many pipelines can I have?
As many as you need in each workspace, each with its own stages.
Can a contact be in more than one pipeline?
Yes. A wholesale buyer can sit in Wholesale and in your sales pipeline at the same time, at different stages.
