# Group contacts with saved segments


A segment is a saved filter: "VIP followers", "Wholesale enquiries", "Giveaway entrants". It updates by itself as contacts change, and broadcasts can target it.

## Steps

### Open Contacts

Every person who commented, messaged or replied to a story is here, with their tags, pipeline stage and owner.

### Filter by tag

Click **Tags** and tick the tags you want. **Match all** needs every tag; **Match any** needs one of them.

### Add more filters

Click **Filters** for account, platform, **Follows you**, last activity and where the contact came from. Here, only people who follow you.

### Save it as a segment

Click **Save as segment**, give it a name and an optional description, and click **Save segment**.

### Switch between segments

Open **Segments** to jump to any saved segment. Change its filters and choose **Save changes**, or **Save as new** to keep both.

### Send a broadcast to it

In a new broadcast, choose **A saved segment** and pick it. The count shows how many can get it right now.

## Q: Does a segment update by itself?

A: Yes. It's a saved filter, not a fixed list, so new contacts who match appear in it automatically.

## Q: Can I export a segment?

A: Yes. Open it and choose **Export these contacts** from the **…** menu to download a CSV.
