# Connect Instagram and Facebook to Awwtomation

Every automation starts with a connected account. It takes about two minutes, and Instagram and Facebook can sit side by side in the same workspace.

## What you need

- An Instagram **Business** or **Creator** account, or a Facebook **Page** you manage (Meta doesn't let apps message from personal profiles)
- An Awwtomation account. You can connect accounts and build automations before you pick a plan.

## Steps

### Open the dashboard and click Connect

Sign in and stay on the **Dashboard**. Click **+ Connect** next to the title.

### Choose Instagram or Facebook Page

Pick **Instagram** for a business or creator account, or **Facebook Page** for a Page you manage.

### Sign in with Meta

Meta's own sign-in window opens. Log in, choose the account and allow the permissions Awwtomation asks for. For Facebook you then land on **Choose Facebook Pages**: tick the Pages you want and click **Connect Page**. You're sent back to the dashboard with a "Connected" message.

### Answer three setup questions

Right after connecting, Awwtomation asks what the account is, how it makes money and what it should do first. Pick what fits and click **Continue**, then **Save** on the last question. **Skip** closes it at any point.

### Start with a template

Your answers pick the templates worth starting with. Click **Browse templates** to see them, already filtered to your goals, or **Close** to come back later.

### Manage your accounts

Click the account faces beside **Dashboard** to open **Accounts**. Each row shows whether the account is connected, its followers and how many automations and DMs it ran this week. The count at the top shows how many accounts your plan allows. Use **…** on a row to refresh it, edit its details or disconnect it.

## Tips

- Connect your Instagram account and your Facebook Page. Messenger chats land in the same inbox as Instagram DMs.
- If an account shows **Reconnect**, click it and sign in with Meta again. Its automations carry on once it's back.
- **Disconnect** keeps the account's history. **Delete account and data** (owners only) removes the account and everything under it.

## Q: Can I connect a personal Instagram account?

A: No. Meta only lets apps message from Instagram Business and Creator accounts. Switching is free in the Instagram app's settings, under Account type and tools.

## Q: How many accounts can I connect?

A: Two on Starter, ten on Pro and forty on Agency. The Accounts dialog shows how many you've used.
